For English speakers talking to Polish speakers

As you will know, when we say thrush the assumption is that we mean vaginal thrush rather than oral thrush.  This is not the case in Polish.  It is the reverse.  In Polish, if you say pleśniawka, the assumption is that you mean oral thrush.  To talk about vaginal thrush, you should specifiy vaginal with the word pochwy after the words for fungal / candidiasis / yeast infection: grzybica/ kandydoza / drożdżyca.   Google translate, unhelpfully translates pleśniawka as thrush, but a Polish patient / colleague most likely means oral thrush.  Another term for oral thrush is kandydoza jamy ustnej.
